Treatment



Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis
Azithromycin 1g taken as single oral dose OR
Doxycycline 100mg bd for 7 days (take with food and sun protections)

Herpes
Aciclovir 400mg tds for 7-10 days OR
Valaciclovir 500mg bd for 7-10 days
WITH paracetamol/codeine for pain relief, antifungal for thrush, lignocacine 2% jelly topically if needed

Syphilis (less than 2 years includes 1, 2, early latent)
Procaine penicilin G 1 g IM daily for 10 days OR
Benzathine penicillin G 1.8g (2.4 million units) IM single dose
(if allergic consider doxycycline 100mg bd for 14 days, but not as effective)
